Thanks guys! I can only speak of my personal experience with U-verse service. I've had only 2 issues both of which were fixed in less than 24 hours. Called and had a tech out early the next morning and was back up an running about 20 mins after he got here. The second which just happened two days ago was a weird one. Out of no where I could not browse the web and kept getting re directed to a U-verse registration page, but of course it would say I was already registered, but still wouldn't let me browse the web.
Kept going back to that page every time I tried to do anything. Called and they couldn't fix it over the phone but once again I had someone out here the very next day and even though he had never seen a customer with this problem before it was fixed by the tech with a phone call in about 30 mins something with provisioning got screwed up. Those have literally been my only two issues in 3 years of service. No disconnects, speeds are always exactly what I pay for 75 Mbps etc etc. My guess is since your DSL has been solid you should have the same experience with U-verse since you seem to have a reliable line.
And your magicjack of course will work with U-verse just fine. Hope this has been of some help in making your decision. The tier choices just climb from there to the final package, which is called Max Turbo. Subscribers can also sign up for television and voice services. U-verse Internet also provides you with a high-performance router that you can use on multiple computers in your home, a firewall that protects your network from hacking and other intrusions, and parental controls that let you control what websites your children can access.
U-verse Internet uses fiber optics, which transmit a larger amount of data using waves of light than the normal metal wiring used by DSL Internet. The plan includes amenities such as a security suite, email accounts and personal web space. Some DSL companies offer these features as well, but not all of them. The Wireless Gateway also controls your digital television and telephone service, and all of these services can be placed on a single bill.
U-verse is not available in areas that are unequipped with fiber-optic cable networks. Jennifer Gigantino has been writing professionally since Her work has been published in various venues ranging from the literary magazine "Kill Author" to the rehabilitation website Soberplace.
